Raw Food Health - Buffet Lunch at Hippocrates Institute
I am 42 years old and have been on a 90% raw food health diet for over one year now. I learned this amazing way of living when I attended the program at Hippocrates Institute.
It's a raw food health diet composed mainly of greens and sprouts. Everyday, without exaggeration, I feel grateful that I discovered this diet.
I actually feel nourished after eating a complete salad made of organic mixed greens, sunflower and/or pea sprouts, and adzuki, mung bean or lentil sprouts.
It's fascinating that when I don't eat like this; for example if I go out to a restaurant, I will feel hungry very soon after eating even if I felt full at the completion of my meal. I'm just amazed at how different I feel when I eat right: I can think more clearly, my mind is not foggy. I feel lighter and more centered.
After 1 year of eating like this I have shed a lot of cravings: for meat, sugar, and sodas. So now I drink 99% filtered water, and consume VERY little processed sugar and ZERO meat. I know at a deep level; I can feel it- that I am helping my body to remain healthy for a long, long time. And I feel compassion when I see just about everyone around me consuming the standard american diet.
If anyone reading this is struggling about staying with a plant-based diet I encourage them to read The China Study. Reading that book helped me a LOT by understanding how diet truly determines our health.
