Drinking Distilled water:
Healthy? Risks?

Drinking distilled water has become very popular in the past few years.

Both distilled water and a reverse osmosis system remove pretty much everything from the water. Yes, this leaves you with really pure water.

So why do some talk about the health risk associated with this water?

The short answer is that drinking distilled water or that from a reverse osmosis system...

...means you are drinking water that will leach minerals from your body.

And you need all the vitamins and minerals you can get.

This water can be helpful for short detoxing, but is not healthy long-term. Wellness water on the other hand, purifies while leaving the minerals intact.

...And the longer answer?

I am definitely no chemist, but I will try to make sense of this in layman's terms (that I can understand, ha!)

First, there is the stability index of water.

A zero index means that water is stable and neither releasing nor absorbing minerals in its path.

A negative index will cause the water to dissolve minerals from its environment.

And yes, by drinking distilled water or that from a reverse osmosis system, you're getting water with a very negative index.

Except for very short-term detoxing, this is very depleting to your body.

In pipes, this causes rust.

More Importantly: What About the Body?

In the body, distilled water will deprive you of: trace minerals you can replenish through wheatgrass, as well as calcium and magnesium.

Given the current diets, it's hard to get enough vitamins / minerals. In fact, most people are very depleted in vitamins / minerals and may not always know it.

Wellness water keeps all of them for you

So why drink water that further deprives you?

Well, actually it could work for very short term detoxing and here's why:

Since chemicals also attach to the negatively indexed water, it could pull out some harmful chemicals in your body (along with the minerals).

But for long-term use?

Your body needs the minerals, so drinking distilled water is robbing you of what you need.

And it's not just your drinking water that's important.

Your bath and shower can also contribute to your healing or throw toxic chemicals into your system (tap water) or add this negative index water.

Your skin absorbs invisible molecules throughout every part of your body.

To sum up, the reverse osmosis system and drinking distilled water contributes to the leaching of minerals from your system.

With the poor quality of today's food, it is increasingly difficult to replenish the vitamins / minerals that your body needs without this extra leakage.

However, the reverse osmosis system may be safely and effectively used for short-term detoxing.
